Project

Conducting Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in (i) West Bengal for Kharif crops 2016–17 and (ii) Odisha for Rabi crops 2016–17.

Scope of work undertaken

Tasks under crop cutting experiments

  1. Collection of CCE schedules and co-observing CCEs with State Government officials or State representatives.
  2. Witnessing the conduct of CCEs as per norms and procedure adopted by the State Government.
  3. Taking quality digital photographs with GPS tag (latitude and longitude up to 6 decimals) using smart mobile phone or camera — the south-west corner of the experimental field, the measurement of the field, harvesting and threshing, the weighing of crop produce with a close image of the final weight, all persons present in the harvested field, and irrigation facility availability, if any.
  4. CCE outcome (yield report) in Form S-3-8, signed by the farmer and officials.
  5. Submission of CCE data and forms within 3 days of completion of all CCEs.

IQSR engaged graduate surveyors to witness the CCE survey, equipped with smart phones for survey and personal motorcycles for easy transportation.
